Every so often, an RVer opens their Happy Campers container and notices that the powder has formed small hard “stones” or clumps. Some wonder if it means the formula went bad—or if it could damage sensors, seals, or the tank itself. Don’t worry—this is completely normal, and it doesn’t affect performance.
What Causes the Powder to Clump?
Happy Campers is a mineral-based odor control formula. The same minerals that neutralize waste and odors also naturally attract a little bit of moisture from the air. In humid environments—or when the lid isn’t tightly sealed—those trace amounts of moisture can cause the fine mineral powder to bind together and form small clumps.
